Paris Saint Germain 6-1 Slovan Bratislava: Dembélé and Ferran Torres put PSG top
Paris Saint Germain opened their UEFA Champions League league-stage campaign with a 6-1 win over Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes, and the message was blunt: Luis Enrique’s side are already setting the pace.
This was a mismatch on paper, then a mismatch on the pitch. PSG led 3-0 by the 31st minute, had 35 shots, put 14 on target, and finished the night first in the Champions League standings with 3 points and a +5 goal difference. Slovan, coached by V. Weiss, left Paris bottom of the table in 36th, with the same goal difference in reverse.
Ousmane Dembélé changed the match early. Ferran Torres buried it. Fabián Ruiz gave the scoreline its final shape in the 87th minute.
The story of the night

Dembélé scored in the 17th minute. No need to dress it up. It was a normal goal, but its effect was heavy. Slovan had come to survive the first wave. They did not.
In the 22nd minute, V. Weiss had to make an early change, with S. Camara replacing K. Bajrič. One minute later, Dembélé scored again in the 23rd minute. That was the moment the match lost its tension.
Ferran Torres scored in the 31st minute, assisted by Ousmane Dembélé, and PSG went into control mode before half-time. Not passive control. Luis Enrique’s team kept the pressure high, kept the ball in Slovan territory, and kept finding shots inside the box.

Slovan did answer. Suleiman Camara scored in the 58th minute, assisted by T. Barseghyan. It was not enough to shift the match, but it mattered for Slovan’s pride. Camara was their one consistent outlet: five shots, two on target, one goal, three fouls drawn, and eight duels won from 14.
In the 60th minute, Slovan made two changes: N. Marcelli replaced T. Barseghyan, and A. Mustafić replaced R. Ibrahim.
Luis Enrique then protected legs and managed the game. In the 64th minute, L. Hernández came on for W. Pacho, M. Godts replaced O. Dembélé, Senny Mayulu replaced A. Hakimi, and L. Digne replaced Nuno Mendes. Ferran Torres was withdrawn in the 73rd minute, with Beraldo coming on.
Slovan’s final changes came in the 80th minute: A. Maroš replaced A. Šporar, and A. Gajdoš replaced Cristian Jesús Martínez.
Fabián Ruiz scored in the 87th minute to make it 6-1. By then, the result had long been filed.
Why PSG were too much
Dembélé was the accelerator. His two goals in the 17th minute and 23rd minute broke Slovan’s first plan, then his assists for Ferran Torres in the 31st minute and 57th minute turned domination into damage. His individual line was brutal: 10 shots, three on target, six key passes, four successful dribbles, two goals, two assists.
Ferran Torres was the finisher. Three goals from three shots on target is the sort of efficiency that changes the tone of a Champions League opener. PSG had enough volume to win this comfortably anyway, but Torres made the scoreboard match the flow of the game.
Akliouche mattered too. His assist for Torres in the 47th minute was one part of a wider performance: four key passes, 76 total passes, three tackles, and constant movement from the front line. Hakimi also created four chances from full-back before going off in the 64th minute, while Nuno Mendes gave PSG another wide threat from the left.
The base was Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz. Vitinha dictated the rhythm, rarely rushed, always available. Fabián Ruiz gave PSG control and then the last goal in the 87th minute. Slovan could not get close enough often enough.
For V. Weiss, the problem was not effort. P. Pokorný made seven tackles and won eight duels. D. Takáč made eight saves. Those numbers tell their own story: Slovan were working, but they were working too close to their own goal.

PSG start with 3 points, six goals scored, and immediate control of the league table. In the new Champions League format, goal difference can become part of the package, and Luis Enrique’s side have already banked a useful margin.
Slovan Bratislava have the opposite problem. A trip to Paris was always the hardest kind of opening brief, but a -5 goal difference leaves V. Weiss with repairs to make quickly.
