Vietnam edged Yongin City 2-1 in Incheon, keeping control of this experimental tour under head coach Kim Sang-sik. The staff again split the squad across each half to audition options ahead of the ASEAN Cup effort.
Although the opening line-up was not released with a formal shape, Vietnam’s first-half group settled quickly. Nguyen Hai Long struck in the 32nd minute, stepping forward from distance to find the top corner and underline his value as the side’s most incisive distributor.
Kim rotated almost wholesale at the interval, and the disruption allowed Yongin City to level in the 58th minute, finishing off a counterattack that exploited the new structure. It was a timely reminder that Vietnam must protect their rest defence when both full-backs surge on.
The visitors regained control in the 74th minute when substitute forward Nguyen Xuan Son — a trialist invited into this camp outside the published senior squad list — attacked a right-flank cross and powered in a header. His contribution steadied the second-wave unit and highlighted productive combinations on that flank.
With no cautions issued and no late drama, Vietnam saw out the result with composure while maintaining healthy competition for places. Yongin City asked questions in transition but, once Vietnam tightened their press, the K League 2 side struggled to carve clear chances. Kim Sang-sik can take encouragement from the depth on display, while coach Jong-Pil Kim departs with evidence his team can threaten stronger opponents on the break.
