Fenerbahçe 1-0 Gornik Zabrze
Fenerbahçe secured a narrow first-leg advantage in Istanbul, Anderson Talisca scoring in the 37th minute to beat Gornik Zabrze and hand D. Tedesco a lead to protect in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.
Tedesco kept faith with the 4-1-4-1, pushing Mattéo Guendouzi and Fred high around Bartuğ Elmaz to pin Gornik back. With no bookings and only sporadic danger at the other end, the Turkish side controlled risk yet never found the second goal that would have fully broken Gornik’s resistance.
